Antarctic climate is poorly known, in part because of the lack of observations. The principal tool to reconstruct past climate change in Antarctica is the measurement of water isotopes in ice cores. The objective of this internship is to gather existing ice core data and publish them in the IPSL database using the LiPD format. The student will use an ice flow model to date a series of cores drilled between the DDU and Dome C stations, and provide a coherent chronological framework to study Antarctic climate variability for the last millenium.
