Admissions

Admission to 1st year of School (License L3)

Admissions to the first year are made through three routes:

  • Admission through the competitive exam for preparatory classes for grandes écoles (CPGE Sciences)
  • Admission by normalien student competition for students in the 2nd year of preparatory class for the scientific grandes écoles or students in L2 or L3 (or equivalent) scientific (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences) justifying, directly or by equivalence, of 120 ECTS credits.   • Each year, the ENS also organizes an international selection which allows twenty foreign students to follow a three-year course at the ENS. The laureates are housed on the ENS campus and receive a monthly grant.
Admission to the master Geosciences, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Environment

Financial supports

Different types of financial supports are offered by the Department, the ENS and PSL: study grants, rooms on the ENS campuses, PhD Track program, housing grants, Master’s grants, support for the internship abroad….
