Prerequisites: Bases en dynamique du climat mais non nécessaire

The aim of the course is to offer a primer to the concepts and methods, that can be used to address water-related problems in the environment. The course gives an introduction to the water cycle, then focus in i) on hydrogeology (flow of groundwater in porous media), ii) on hydrogeophysics (Geophysics applied to water resource) and then iii) on quantitative hydrology (flow on the land surface and in rivers). In particular, this course focus on quantification, such as a water reserve, a concentration, a transfer time. The course is also based on case studies (aquifer in Alsace, Albian aquifer, aquifer under Bordeaux, basal Aquifer in the Galapagos Islands …).
