Practical – Seminars

Programs to be found on the seminar page and in the IPSL agenda

Seminars of Department

  • Once a month, on the LGENS time slot – Tuesday at 11am in room Claude Froidevaux – E314
  • Coordination: Hélène Rouby (E205)
  • Anyone can come and see HR to suggest speakers.
  • Speeches must be addressed to the WHOLE DEPARTMENT!
We prefer very cross-disciplinary topics, or side-steps and broader themes on the world of research.

Seminars of LGENS

  • Tuesdays at 11 a.m. in Salle Claude Froidevaux – E314
  • Coordination: Hélène Rouby (E205) and Jean-Arthur Olive (E311b)
  • We need your suggestions to cover all the lab’s themes.
You’re all invited to suggest speakers: you can take advantage of colleagues’ visits, bring in someone from a lab in the Paris region or a little further afield (depending on the time of year, we can pay for a European train ticket and/or a night’s accommodation).
  • You can also offer to present your work!
Ideally, an “intern” (permanent or no) could present his or her work once a month.
  • The speaker is invited for lunch with a few people from the lab after the seminar.

Seminars of LMD

  • See with DPA and OIC teams.
  • HR can take care of the announcement on the IPSL website if needed.

In general…

  • In principle, it is possible to offer seminars outside the usual time slots. However, during the first semester, room availability is VERY LIMITED, as these are very busy with courses and numerous thesis defenses.
  • These seminars are open to all, but are primarily designed to enable the speaker to meet with members of the lab. As a result, they are generally only held onsite.
